Visit Weymouth: Sound & Light Spectacular
Another reason to hurry down to Weymouth is the sound and light spectacular currently running at the Nothe Fort from the 10th to the 13th of September 2014. With a cast of ninety telling the story of Weymouth and Portland in acting, song and dance, including canon and bugle calls, atmospheric music and fireworks on each night, this event is a real treat.

Visit Weymouth: Iron Man Competition
With our fine Georgian seafront and wonderful sandy beach there is always a reason to visit Weymouth; but if you need an additional incentive here is a great one: this weekend sees Weymouth host a new UK iron distance triathlon event! This challenging endurance race will take place on 14th September 2014, starting with a 3.8 km open water sea swim in Weymouth Bay, followed by a 180 km cycling event through surrounding countryside and and then a 42.2 km run through the town. Why not come down to Weymouth and be a part of this tremendous endurance sports event!
Next year, Weymouth will host the 2015 ETU (European Triathlon Union) European Long Distance Triathlon Championships. This will take place on Sunday 13th September 2015. Whether you will be competing or cheering a competitor on, its not too early to find a place to stay as local hotels & B&Bs will mostly be full for this event.
